I am originally from Keene, NH and have lived in the state for most of my life, though I hope to retire some place warmer and sunnier ... but not yet! In 1994, while living in Keene with my daughter, Bridey, I was lifting a patient and sustained a back injury. After two surgeries, over a four year period, I had to give up nursing. At the time of my injury, I also worked part time as the assistant director for the Newman Center associated with Keene State College . In that position, I attended Notre Dame College, for three weekly summer sessions, as part of a diocesan certificate program in Theology.
So … I took the loss of my nursing career as an opportunity to attend Notre Dame College full time pursuing a Theology Degree. I sold my house, bought a car, filled it up with all my earthly goods, and moved to Joseph House of Prayer in Manchester to attend Notre Dame College. At Ste. Marie Church, I volunteered with Fr. Bob Couto in RCIA adapted for teens. When Fr. Couto became pastor at St. Jude Church in 1999, I accepted his offer of a part time job in Youth Ministry. Eventually, I moved out of Youth Ministry and into full time Faith Formation. As of 2021, I oversee both Faith Formation and Youth Ministry. Everything changes, and everything stays the same!
Occasionally I wear a variety of hats. When needed, I fill in to assist with funerals, serve as a Special Minister of the Eucharist, Reader, and on rare occasions an Usher. I am also handy with a plunger and a wet vac!
