Welcome! We’re glad you found our website and are spending a few minutes visiting . . .
It’s my privilege to serve as deacon here at Saint Jude’s. Preaching, helping engaged couples prepare for marriage, working with parents and godparents as they celebrate the baptism of their children, and serving as a resource for our parish ministries are all part of my work in the parish. During the week, I teach Humanities at Saint Anselm College (my alma mater) and Liturgical Preaching at Pope Saint John XXIII National Seminary in Weston, Mass., as well as write and edit a newsletter on preaching and communications. My wife, Ann, and I have lived in Londonderry for the past 28 years.
In a lifetime of involvement in the Church (from Catholic school student too many years ago to diaconal ordination in 2014), I have seen the many miracles God enables us to work in every corner of the vineyard. I have seen again and again how our Catholic community in New Hampshire mirrors the very presence of God among us. Despite difficult and challenging times, that undying optimism about being “church” and its potential to be the very reflection of the Risen Jesus in our midst are central to every ministry at Saint Jude’s.
At Saint Jude’s, we realize that the call to ministry, Christ’s commission to serve, is NOT imparted by ordination. It is in the sacrament of Baptism that God calls every one of us (not just the ordained) to the work of the Gospel. We are all called to be “sowers” of God’s Word of compassion, healers of those broken in spirit and body, seekers of those lost and pushed to the margins, “foot-washers” in the Spirit of Jesus.
So thanks for visiting and please check in often. We invite you and your family to join us for the Celebration of the Eucharist each week. We hope, too, that you will consider being part of one of our many parish ministries of service to the community (and please let us know if one of those ministries might be of help to you). We are a phone call or an e-mail away.
Peace and all good . . . !
