The Liturgy Committee assists in coordinating and planning the liturgical life of St. Jude Parish. The main goal of the Committee is to support the worship of God in the liturgy that is celebrated here at St. Jude, by ensuring the “full, conscious and active participation” of all the people in parish liturgy and by creating an environment where liturgy is the fount from which the missionary activity of the parish flows. The Committee is made up of people who are involved in all the liturgical ministries, and also includes parishioners who typically participate in the liturgy each week as members of the assembly. Our work includes short term and strategic planning relating to the weekly Sunday Eucharist, the liturgical seasons, and other liturgical events. We also do training of liturgical ministers and serve an educational role by providing our fellow parishioners with resources and information on liturgical matters.
We love this parish because we have experienced the reality of the Resurrection and the presence of the Spirit at many liturgical moments here at St. Jude. We consider ourselves blessed to be able to gather as members of a close-knit parish in a close-knit town.
Greeters assist with weekend Mass celebrations in a variety of ways, including by greeting parishioners, serving as ushers, and taking up the offertory collection.
Current, and prospective, greeters are invited to a Safety and Security meeting on Thursday, October 12th. The meeting will be held from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM in the Parish Hall.
Anyone who has been a “Greeter” in the past, or would like to learn more about this important service to our parish, is asked to attend. If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Bill Schenkelberg at [email protected].
