Pastoral Council

The Pastoral Council of St. Jude Parish is an internal parish group called to: Celebrate in prayer and Eucharist, Dedicate ourselves to religious education, Serve and love our parish family, and reach out to the larger community.

Our mission as a Pastoral Council is to share responsibility for the pastoral life of St. Jude Parish under the leadership of the pastor. The purpose of the Council is to prayerfully engage with parishioners, staff, and pastor in common reflection about the parish’s mission and ministry. The Pastoral Council has four basic functions as an official advisory and consultative body for the parish:

  1. To research the needs, ideas and hopes of our faith community.
  2. To encourage and support existing ministries.
  3. To evaluate the quality of life of our parish faith community.
  4. To plan for the parish’s future by recommending policies, procedures and programs that will implement its values and fulfill the church’s mission.

The Pastoral Council serves at the behest of the Pastor and meets upon his request.
